Minimum system Requirements
In order to view the media items on this site the
following is required:
Internet Explorer browser - version 5 or above
Firefox browser - any version
Opera browser - version 9 or above
Chrome browser – any version
Safari browser - version 3 or above
It is recommended
that you have at least Windows XP with Service Pack One
or or MAC OS9 and Internet speed of at least 512Kb/s to
maintain a suitable streaming speed.
Using the Flash Media Player
The player is
designed to be as easy to use as possible, the bottom
bar has simple navigation buttons as well as the option
to mute the volume and enlarge the video to full
screen.
A progress bar is
also included which can be used in conjunction with the
timer to allow the user to drag the clip to the desired
time.
When the user selects a video to play, they are
presented with a playlist of all the different parts of
the event. This allows the user to select any part of
the event without the need to watch it all from the
very beginning.
Navigation
By selecting the link
"See All items" located just below the player, the user
can view every audio and video file uploaded which are
displayed in chronological order on the new page.
The search option on
the top left hand corner of the page grants even greater
functionality. Every media item uploaded is associated
with a number of keywords and is displayed by relevance.
Streaming problems
If you have trouble
viewing the video you may need to open up additional
ports on your firewall/router. The streaming video uses port
1935 for the RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol)
and will need to be open before you can view the video.
If you cannot view the video please consult your
internet service provider or the person who manages your
network who will be able to conduct the necessary steps
to rectify the problem.
